RYLA Clipper – Privacy Policy

Effective date: February 25, 2026

RYLA Clipper ("the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension operated by RYLA ("we," "us," or "our"). This policy explains what data the Extension collects, how it is used, and how it is protected.

1. What the Extension Does

RYLA Clipper allows you to clip event details from any webpage and save them to your RYLA Studio organizer dashboard. It extracts structured event metadata (such as JSON-LD and Open Graph data) from the current page when you activate the extension, and sends that data to RYLA's servers.

2. Data We Collect

The Extension collects and processes the following categories of data:

  • Personally identifiable information — Your name and email address, used to authenticate your RYLA account and associate clipped events with your organizer dashboard.
  • Authentication information — An authentication token stored locally in your browser via the Chrome Storage API. This token is used to securely communicate with the RYLA Studio API.
  • Website content — Structured event metadata (such as event title, date, time, location, description, and organizer details) extracted from the active page when you click the extension icon or use the right-click context menu. The Extension does not read or collect content from pages you do not explicitly clip.
  • Server preference — A locally stored setting indicating which RYLA API server to communicate with.

3. Data We Do Not Collect

The Extension does not collect or access health information, financial or payment information, personal communications, location data, browsing history, user activity (such as clicks, mouse movement, or keystrokes), or any data from pages you do not actively clip.

4. How We Use Your Data

All data collected is used solely for the Extension's single purpose: clipping event details and saving them to your RYLA Studio dashboard. Specifically:

  • Authentication tokens are used to verify your identity when communicating with the RYLA API.
  • Extracted event metadata is transmitted to RYLA's servers and stored in your organizer dashboard.

5. Data Storage and Security

Authentication tokens and server preferences are stored locally in your browser using the Chrome Storage API. Event data you clip is transmitted over HTTPS to RYLA's servers and stored securely in your account.

6. Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, transfer, or share your data with third parties. Your data is not used for advertising, analytics, creditworthiness assessment, lending, or any purpose unrelated to the Extension's core functionality.

7. Remote Code

The Extension does not use remote code. All code is included within the extension package.

8. Your Rights and Choices

You can uninstall the Extension at any time, which will remove all locally stored data (authentication tokens and preferences). To request deletion of event data stored on RYLA's servers, please contact us using the information below.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
